d.Mick banned from ClanBase

ClanBase have today banned dignitas Call of Duty 4 team captain Mick 'Mick' Brawdshaw from their website and leagues. The decision has been made with connotations towards the very public controversy surrounding the GUID mismatch incident. The reason for Mick being banned, according to ClanBase was due to was due to "Repeatedly abused admins and other players even after several warnings."

Mick released the following statement via Fnatic:

"CB handled the case very badly, we can prove it was SKO playing so the GUID shouldnt really come into it. As for banning me, I dont quite get it.. I never posted any pornographic images so I havent a clue why they have stated that I did, some say Slander"

ClanBase's reputation is in an undeniable slump due to the lack of quality prizes and more and more e-sports giants such as Fnatic choosing to not participate due to lack on incentive. Because of the way the dignitas and H2K conflict was handled, it has also been confirmed that both dignitas and MYM will choose to not participate in the next season of the EuroCup.

Seriously, hate from all sides from people who don't even have anything to do with this case and come up with such harsh words, a website that has had a big part in making gaming big. This is how it gets repaid? "Newskool" people who only read that their favourite team which has a player which 'abuses' other players and admins and gets banned for it?

A team that "breaks" the rules, how unfair it may be-it is a rule in the end, and gets a forfeit loss for it and then makes the whole organisation and all the teams pull out of (read; let them finish the current season, we don't have the balls to really make a point by pulling out all our teams immediately) clanbase?

Fuck it, if they want to make their point by trying to act like a gift from God himself, fine. If you want to be their big fanboy and follow them into that creek with your ignorant mind, fine. Just remember what clanbase did and even if some cod4 admin made a 'wrong' decision in your eyes, remember to respect it for what it has done for gaming in Europe and is still doing for other games, not just the fucking cod4-"welcome kids - play this game"-scene.

It's not to stick up for Dignitas or Mick, but how crap the ClanBase rules and admins are. They even need to give prizemoney to all teams of previous season.

You are funny. We could pull out all the teams immediately buy why "destroy" the other cups our other teams play? Think you are scared of us in UT3 TDM ;D

What do you know? You only read this story about h2k and dignitas and say "How crap clanbase rules and admins are"? How narrowminded, clanbase is doing fine in other games.
I expected more about someone who follows the e-sports scene so closely. Sure, league's make mistakes (not saying this is) but to go around burning clanbase is not the way.

Yes newbman, me. People could use an eye-opener when it comes to burning clanbase about that there's more than just the kiddiecod4 cup.

And yes, I'm "sooooooo funny", damn :(. I bet you couldn't though, I don't see teams who don't have too much to do with your other teams leaving the cup because you decide to "REDCARD CB" anyway, ie - UT3.
And yes, we as unbeaten team (with no maplosses) are really scared of your emosquad :--(( damn arrogants us!

This is the part where people are swearing at admins. Dumb rule? Perhaps but that's a different discussion. To start abusing admins because of that is something different.
But you are right, yes. I don't like negativity towards the whole of clanbase or the total loss of respect. I hoped that this could have been settled in a more decent way.

And this has nothing to do with dignitas as a clan, could've been any other big clan :).

Oh, I thought this was the Mick getting banned for abusing admins-thread.

"About the prizemoney; "Welcome to e-sports." - Wow, as a player like you I would think you agree this is an awful thing and should be taken out of eSports as fast as possible. And seeing ClanBase doesn't do this - in various games - there should be taken action against them.

Once again, I'm not sticking up for either Dignitas or Mick. I just want to make a point about how ClanBase handles its business. If you say ClanBase does well in other leagues, nonsens. There is a reason why other big games (CS 1.6 & WC3) don't play in the league.

Please don't start insulting me because I know more about this case than you, there's no need to win a discussion this way - it only shows your true self. At first I agree'd with the decision of ClanBase but due to all the "awesome" work the admins have done and the money disapearing it made me turn around 180°.

And how is this not a way? I'm trying to gather people to "strike" against ClanBase, and it's working fine. Loads of people agree, as its a limitation of eSports to not give the prizemoney as promised, this MUST be banned. Also biased admins who all are in the same clan (H2k) and treat their team just a little bit better than another one.

And my post on Fnatic was NOT only about Mick getting banned. The fact Mick got banned turned my head and got me diving into this case and also other cases where ClanBase failed.

When you blatantly break rules, you get punished, thats how every league works, infact thats how EVERYTHING in life works, if you don't understand that then all i have to say is, cu in jail.

At the end of the day I think dignitas should of dealt with this with a more humble aproach, the fact that they were in the wrong with the GUID in the first place and then have the nerve to red card CB is a pretty poor display from such a leading team. They know they can do it, as zkyp said its the whole God complex, dignitas you should show some more respect to CB imo.

They should of simply made a post showing there, frustration and disaproval of the decision made and left it there. If you get knocked out of one tournament from a wrong decision (altho was it wrong?) then just take it on the chin and win the next one.

Dissapointing show from dignitas all round, not a very good example.
